1986
EWIS was incorporated.
Appointed as the Pioneer IBM Business Partner for Personal Computers in Sri Lanka.
1991
Taking ICT to the grassroots level of Sri Lanka by conducting ICT exhibitions across the country.
Appointed as a distributor of Microsoft in Sri Lanka.
First ICT Company to open up branches across the island.
1998
The first ICT Company to obtain ISO 9002 certification in Sri Lanka.
The first to sponsor the first ICT magazine in Sinhala-Pariganakaya.
1999
Became a CISCO partner.
Donated a fully-fledged computer lab and premises to a school in Yapahuwa under the programs “EWIS Prajaasathkaara” and “Mawubimata Danum Sathkaaraya”. This project was the first among many CSR initiatives of EWIS.
2000
Collaborated with the Department of Examination in hosting a website to publish the results of GCE Advanced Level Examination.
2001
Collaborated with the Department of Examination in hosting a website to publish the results of GCE Advanced Level Examination.
2003
Obtained IBM Winner’s Circle Award and IBM Business Partner of the Year Award.
Appointed as a tier one business partner for Hewlett Packard (HP).

EWIS earned the HP Best Premier Business Partner award for their strong partnership with Hewlett Packard.
EWIS helped automate the Department of Census and Statistics by designing and printing census forms, digitizing completed forms, and delivering data files, enhancing the management of national census information.
2013
Establishment of first state of the art Origin Device Manufacturing Plant in Sri Lanka located in Sooriyawawa, Hambantota.
A turnkey event management system and an access control system was developed for the smooth functioning of the 23rd CHOGM held at Colombo Sri Lanka.

2014
Thousand schools development project (Mahindyodaya Project) – Largest PC order awarded to a single computer vendor.
Awarded Best Partner in Education at the Microsoft Sri Lanka Partner Awards.
2015
The first fully automated Medical Supplies Management Information System (MSMIS) in South Asia was implemented to manage the supply of medical drugs from manufacturers to all government hospitals and other healthcare institutions across the island.
Recognized as a Great Place to Work in Sri Lanka, certified by the research conducted by Great Place to Work (USA).
2016
Open R&D Center at the University of Moratuwa, Department of Computer Science & Engineering.

2017
Developing ICAO software for the Department of Registration of Persons to streamline the process of taking photos for National Identity Cards.
Introduction of Smart Boards to Ladies College, signifying the introduction of the “Smart Classroom Concept” to Sri Lanka.
Launching of specialized tablet computers to be mounted on multi day fishing boats.
2021
EWIS Colombo Limited was recognized amongst the 10 Best Workplaces for Women for the 2nd Consecutive Year.
EWIS together with EWIS Peripherals was recognized among the top 40 Best Workplaces for the 5th year.
EWIS Career Training Centre was recognized as a Microsoft Global Training Partner in Sri Lanka.
